Establishing Phone Comfort Zone

I’ve heard it 100 times. No, make that 200 times. Every time I heard it, nobody told me that I have to present my knowledge the right way in order for it to be any good. You can have all the knowledge in the world, but if you don’t know what to do with it, it’s as much good to you as suntan lotion is to an Eskimo.

Let me give you an example. I remember talking with someone from Iowa the other day, and in passing they told me about the Police Association making solicitation calls. Pretty much useless information to me at the time, but it stuck in my mind.

A few days later, I was due to call someone else from Iowa. Well, after the formalities of introductions and how do’s, I brought up the subject of the Police Association making solicitation calls. Now, she hadn’t heard anything about that, but it was interesting how the comfort level of the call went up and conversation just started to flow naturally.

The best part of the call wasn’t the information that I could give about Network Marketing, or even the information about Mentoring For Free. It was about me showing I had general knowledge (something about her life too) and I could use that knowledge in a way that would bring a sense of ease to the call.

Establishing that comfort in a phone call can easily be done by the way you present the general knowledge that you have.
