With the rising popularity of the internet, the network marketing or referral marketing industry is reaching a new level of popularity never seen before.

In the “pre-internet” age distributors were often limited to finding customers and downline distributors within their own city, state or country. Few had international downlines or customers, because of the difficulty of communication with people over long distances.

But the internet age has changes this.

Now almost all distributor based organisations lets their distributors or affiliates build networks internationally, and since many network marketing companies drop ships the products directly to the end-consumers, there’s no longer the same need for distributors to stock products for resale.
