Is Xango simply Hype Juice?

Boise Weekly:

…Combine the discovery of possibly cancer-fighting antioxidants occurring in fruits and vegetables, with the detection of relatively large amount of xanthones (a type of antioxidant) in the mangosteen pericarp (husk), then throw into the mix a couple of former employees of a successful multi-level marketing company. You now have the recipe for XanGo, the first group to exploit this budding research for fast profits. The Utah-based network marketing company has created an awfully expensive fruit juice—forgive me, dietary supplement—that is made from the mangosteen fruit and its bitter rind, along with nine other more pedestrian juices and purees, like apple and pear. After failing in what could be too easily described as a juicy patent dispute, XanGo is now challenged in the marketplace by other mangosteen supplements.

Salesmanship aside, when you look at the less than two dozen research papers that have been published on extracts of this fruit in the last 15 years, you’ll find that nearly all are of the petri dish/test tube type and not one is a clinical human trial—I’d take even a badly designed trial. That is not to say that xanthones and other antioxidants don’t have value; but it is a long stretch to promise loaves and fishes based on what amounts to a single Japanese rat study. A great number of other fruits and vegetables, not to mention vitamins and supplements, have significantly more data demonstrating clinical effectiveness. Unfortunately, no one becomes financially independent by network marketing 89-cent boxes of frozen spinach.

I have to disagree with your post. There are literally hundreds of independent scientific and medical studies done over the past thirty years concerning xanthones. A doctor friend of mine says that xanthones may be the most studied phytoceutical ever. In addition, there are centuries of folklore usage of the mangosteen fruit for medicinal purposes. The major pharmaceutical companies are all studying xanthones (in fact, Pfizer has hired one of the Japanese researchers to conduct xanthone studies for them).

In this country, we are finally becoming aware of the importance of preventative medicine as opposed to the treatment of existing conditions. There is a reason that our life expectancy is #24 in the world (World Health Organization figures), despite the fact that we spend far more than any other country in the world on health care.

My wife and I have been steadily taking Xango for the past year and have seen wonderful results. More importantly, I have heard from hundreds of people who have had dramatic, and in some cases miraculous, results. This is not a joke, nor is it miracle potion. I also know of some peoplr who have taken the juice with no apparent results. They, however, are in the distinct minority. Most people who are using the juice do see positive results.

It is important to note that so far 43 Xanthones have been found in the mangosteen fruit. Of those, only 8 have been studied. I can only imagine what will be discovered when the other 35 are studied. It seems impossible to believe that this fruit has never been brought to market before, but it is true. The future is bright for those who are open-minded enough to look at the Xango opportunity objectively.

I like the business as well as the juice. thankyou.

I would say that the juice does taste good but it is not much more than an expensive natural fruit juice.

“Fruit drinks are often healthful beverages. But the only reason I can see that the promoters of mangosteen can get away with charging $37 for this product is that they are playing on patients’ hopes and fears in a cynical way. Without the health claims, open or implied, the product could only be sold for at most $5 or $6 (which, for example, is the cost of antioxidant-rich pomegranate juice).”

There are more beneficial products out there that contain more than a mix of natural fruits. The fruits are good for you but insufficient by themselves to warrant paying so much for the product.

    >I have to disagree with your post. There are literally hundreds of independent scientific and medical studies done over the past thirty years concerning xanthones.

Prove this, please at least provide a link. Myteamextreme (a Xango sales group) actually took a report from Slaon-Kettering and edited out the negative parts that concerned your beloved Xango. Then they promoted the edited warning as a ‘proof’! LOL

    >A doctor friend of mine says that xanthones may be the most studied phytoceutical ever.

Is he a research scientist? What are his credentials? I’ll bet he is one of the MLM paid doctors….

    >In addition, there are centuries of folklore usage of the mangosteen fruit for medicinal purposes.

They most often use it for external medicine and internally only for gastric problems and even this is not confirmed. You had better check with Xango corporate and see if your own claims line up with theirs.

    >The major pharmaceutical companies are all studying xanthones (in fact, Pfizer has hired one of the Japanese researchers to conduct xanthone studies for them).

    Again, please provide some proof.

    >In this country, we are finally becoming aware of the importance of preventative medicine as opposed to the treatment of existing conditions.

Really, that has always been the focus if you study medical history. What is not new is the greed of people who promote their various tonics and elixers as some sort of cure all.

    >There is a reason that our life expectancy is #24 in the world (World Health Organization figures), despite the fact that we spend far more than any other country in the world on health care.

Where is Thailand ranked? Isn’t it the home of this great and wonderful cure all?

    > My wife and I have been steadily taking Xango for the past year and have seen wonderful results.

Good, now tell us what else you do health wise that may be a factor. Have you ever heard of the ‘placebo effect’?

    >More importantly, I have heard from hundreds of people who have had dramatic, and in some cases miraculous, results.

Can you provide actual names, addresses and documentation?

    >This is not a joke, nor is it miracle potion. I also know of some peoplr who have taken the juice with no apparent results. They, however, are in the distinct minority. Most people who are using the juice do see positive results.

Can you tell us who you studied and how you took this survey? How can you say ‘most’? Are the results worth 45 bucks a bottle when grape and prune juice will do you equally as well?

    >It is important to note that so far 43 Xanthones have been found in the mangosteen fruit. Of those, only 8 have been studied. I can only imagine what will be discovered when the other 35 are studied.

Me too! Did you know that the human body can only process so much of this a day and the rest goes out as waste? Have you ever seen a double-blind study of Xanthones?

    >It seems impossible to believe that this fruit has never been brought to market before, but it is true. The future is bright for those who are open-minded enough to look at the Xango opportunity objectively.

98.5 per cent of the people who begin a MLM ‘business’ never see a profit. In fact, it takes a ‘downline’ of 350 people even to make a moderate income and each of those ‘businesses’ lose money to support the top. That’s why it is a thinly disguised pyramid. Oh and guess what? One of the best ways the top rank make money is on seminars, tool sales and leads for pay! I bet you are one of the people who has never made a dime of profit!

I hope you find your way out of this financial boondoggle!

Please tell me if the people who claim that they can help you ad 5 to 10 people per day to help your MLM business is not crooks. Thanks!

Interesting. I’ve seen differently in other places. Harvard has done some interesting studies.

I am a distributor for Kyani, a company who recently bought out enliven a company that sold Nitro FX™. the reson i am posting is because of this amaziing product that is made from the noni plant.

Here is som information for you all about it.

    Kyäni Nitro FX™
    Noni Extract—Nitric Oxide Formula
    Discovery
The discovery of nitric oxide function in the human body is one of the most important discoveries in recent medical/scientific history. The breakthrough came in 1987, when it was shown that this molecule, which was far from the forefront of medical science, was produced in nearly every cell in the human body.
The importance of nitric oxide was made even more evident when three Pharmacologists were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1998 for their research in nitric oxide.
Recently nitric oxide has been named the “Molecule of Life”, for without it, life is impossible.
    What is nitric oxide?
What is nitric oxide and why is it so important? Despite the significance of this molecule, nitric oxide (abbreviated NO) is relatively unknown outside the medical research community. Nitric oxide is a highly reactive gas that is naturally produced in the human body. NO is the most important signaling molecule in the body, and it affects a wide range of physiological functions including circulation, inflammation, and oxygen release in tissues from red blood cells.
Before going any further, however, let’s be clear on one thing – nitric oxide it is NOT nitrous oxide, the gas administered by dentists to decrease pain during dental procedures. But there are similarities, as in the case of nitroglycerine, often prescribed to reduce the pain of angina because it generates nitric oxide. In both cases, pain is decrease through the nitric oxide effect!
Furthermore, nitric oxide is NOT nitric acid, a highly corrosive acid used in the making of explosives and fertilizers. Nor is it nitrogen oxide, a poisonous air pollutant. Rather, the nitric oxide (NO) molecule is composed of one atom of nitrogen and one atom of oxygen bound by a double bond. What has scientists and researchers around the globe so excited about this seemingly simple molecule is the seemingly unlimited number of functions it has in the human
    body.
What are the benefits of nitric oxide?
Nitric oxide helps maintain, repair and defend nearly every cell and system in the body. NO assists in combating pain, inflammation, digestion problems, insomnia, diabetes, and injury. It is also consistently linked to increased energy, improved sexual function, and even weight management. It is able to do this because it is a “signaling molecule”, which instigates processes involving an extensive array of physiological functions.
Perhaps the most important function of nitric oxide is the relaxing of the smooth muscles in the walls of the arterioles, thus allowing blood to flow more freely to vital organs. This promotes optimal heart function by allowing more oxygen, nutrients, vitamins, and growth factors to reach
    crucial points in the body.

Where does nitric oxide come from?
The primary way nitric oxide is produced in the body is through the process of converting Larginine(one of the 20 amino acids) into citrulline. L-arginine, the source of NO, is released from proteins and small peptides in the small intestine and is then absorbed, along with other amino acids into the circulation. It is then delivered to every cell in the body. Some L-arginine is metabolized for NO synthesis and some is used for protein synthesis.
Nitric oxide is also created from substances known as nitrates. As we now know, nitrites found in plants such as green leafy vegetable and Noni have proven to be high in these substances, and when ingested the nitrates and nitrites are converted into NO by normal stomach acid. Not only does this nitric oxide protect us by killing almost all the bacteria that have been swallowed in our food, but it also diffuses through the stomach wall and enters the red blood cells or binds to
protein to be carried off to all parts of the body.
Noni and the Nitric Oxide Effect
Over the last decade Noni (morinda citrifolia) has become a worldwide health phenomenon and hundreds of thousands of people from around the world have added their voices to the Polynesians’ – that Noni works! But, no one really understood the reasons why it worked, including the Polynesians. Until now!
Detailed analysis of Noni revealed the incredible nutrient composition of this remarkable plant.
Noni is rich in health-promoting compounds such as antioxidants, phytochemicals and bioflavonoids.
The Noni leaves and roots are sources of complete protein, each having a full
    complement of essential amino acids.
In 2001 an independent laboratory conducted research on Noni and found that in endothelial tests in vitro, diluted Noni juice produced a nitric oxide effect. It was also found that Noni leaves produced four times the amount of nitric oxide as compared to diluted Noni juice. However, by using a proprietary combination of various parts of the whole Noni plant, a formula which produces a nitric oxide effect up to 50 times greater than the diluted Noni juice was created!
The Discovery of Kyäni Nitro FX™
The discovery of Noni’s nitric oxide effect finally explained the true benefits of the Noni plant. This finding led to a new and potentially life-changing product called Kyäni Nitro FX™, a formula that maximizes the production of nitric oxide. This product utilizes the best parts of the Noni plant and distillates them into a proprietary extract to provide optimal nitric oxide effect.
Today there is growing appreciation of the body’s natural abilities to support wellness. The science behind nitric oxide has proven that health begins at the cellular level, a fact that is quickly gaining universal acceptance. There is nothing that affects cells on a more fundamental and broad basis than does nitric oxide.
Now Kyäni Nitro FX™ brings a renewed hope for wellness for your entire family.

All I can say is too anyone who cares about good health should take responsibility for their own health care. Doctors in this century are business men. If you want to eat crappy food then its real simple you WILL pay the price sooner or later. Thats the bottom line! Personally I could care a less how something is marketed; if it works it works, period. You negative minded people will continue too trash talk something you have little or no understanding of and are probably what I would call cronic complainers. Just keep going to the doctor and keep paying for those high priced medications that are unnatural and full of side effects, I see you people everyday riding around in four wheel scooters and leaning on your grocery carts with baskets full of your boxed prepacked nutrient empty foods. And leave the good healthy products and real foods to the people that want to take responsibiltiy for the own health care instead of going to the doctor every two weeks. Bottom line is their are many good supplements out their but their are only a few with the “xanthone molecules” ; which for all you nay sayings who probably have never even tried the product, this is for you and soooo true; “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink it”. Another word to the wise! Do not take health advise from sick people, nor financial advise from negative people. There is always going to be these people that have something bad to say about everything. Xango is real, so keep spending money on your Coca Cola and beer and maybe I will visit you in the intensive care unit, that is if you get a second chance after your heart attack or stroke from not opening your mind to the possibility of “What if”………l

I think you have to find what works best for you when it comes to health drinks like XanGo. Not everyone is going to have the same results. It’s a good drink for many people.
