Sorry for the lapse in posting. I spent the last couple of days with Bo Short, Marshall Douglas, and John Terhune at the Oasis LifeSciences headquarters. I took some pictures and I will share some of my experience in the coming days. It’s fun to be back in the active process of building a business. For those of you not aware, I stopped personally sponsoring people in Network Marketing last February when I came on board as President of Passport LLC. The Passport team is in the process of joining Oasis LifeSciences and I am very happy to be an associate again. I sponsored a number of people in the last week since signing up with Oasis LifeSciences and I am extactic about being “back on the trail”, helping people earn additional income through Network Marketing. While at the headquaters and labs, I learned that Oasis LifeSciences does a tremendous amount of reseach into how natural plants and herbs affect the aging process. With that fresh in my mind, this article caught my eye.
Boomers may put brakes on longevity
After a century of nearly uninterrupted medical improvements and longer lives, it looks like the baby boomers could mess things up.
A new government study shows deaths from heart disease, cancer and stroke continue to drop, but it also shows that half of Americans 55 to 64 — including the oldest of the baby boomers — have high blood pressure, and two in five are obese.
This means that this large group of aging Americans is in worse shape in some respects than those born a decade earlier were when they were the same age.
Medical improvements in coming years might offset these problems before they affect life expectancy, but there are no promises, health officials said.
“The late 50s and early 60s are a crucial time to focus on disease prevention,” said Dr. Julie Gerberding, director of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. “It’s never too late to adopt a healthy lifestyle to enjoy a longer, healthier life.”
