Orrin Woodward Takes Wikipedia To Court
Quixtar leader Orrin Woodward’s motivational organization, Team of Destiny (now called “The TEAM”), appears to be upset about a recent addition to the open source reference phenomenon known as Wikipedia.
On November 27, 2005, I noticed that the Team of Destiny tool business had been added to Wikipedia. Nine days later, on December 6, 2005, the U.S. District Court of Florida issued a subpoena to the Wikimedia Foundation (Wikipedia’s parent organization) demanding specific information related to Orrin Woodward, Chris Brady and the Team of Destiny.
Ada, We Have A Problem
The “tool” issue has long been a problem that has plagued Quixtar and Amway. It could be that the company is just blowing smoke or perhaps the result of declining revenues and membership have provided the wake-up call needed at Alticor.
Quixtar appears to be trying to re-invent itself by openly acknowledging historical barriers that have driven it’s less than stellar reputation. Settle the training issues first, then a 15% price decrease? Quixtar could actually make itself an attractive income opportunity.
Pressure to buy tools in Quixtar.
So I saw the article in The Grand Rapids Press. One of the quotes I saw was from a distributor who was in favor of the tool system, and thought it was a good thing. Here is the quote I am talking about:
“You are encouraged to buy the CDs,” said Dalenburg. But “no one ever forces you to buy them. Absolutely not.”
After reading this I couldn’t help but roll my eyes thinking “Yeah right!” But it got me to thinking about a project that could and should be done. I think it would be very interesting for someone to get signed up in Quixtar with one of the motivational organizations i.e. BWW, WWDB, TEAM, etc. The catch however would be not to sign up for tools. Then start a blog about the experience with these Quixtar motivational organizations being an IBO not on tools.
