PR Web:

Canadian Diamond Traders Inc. is located in Toronto, Canada and for the past 2 years has been a highly successful diamond company, specializing in marketing diamonds to brokers and jewelers all over the world. In December 2004 they launched their new Direct Marketing division designed to enable CDT to effectively distribute a large volume of high quality loose diamonds.

CDT’s diamonds are graded by Gem Scan International, the largest accredited diamond appraiser in Canada, servicing world renowned jewelers such as Birks, Mappins and Tiffany’s. CDT’s new Direct Marketing division is providing ordinary people with the chance to become registered distributors. They are currently experiencing major domestic and international expansion.

How do you know that Canadian Diamond Traders is not a pyramid scheme? Will it be able to maintain its trading program in the long run?

  • Terresa Holt on August 10th, 2006 at 3:37 pm

And now for the other side of the truth. Canadian Diamond Traders IS a PYRAMID SCHEME. They even tell you that when you enlist and donate your hard earned cash. Their justification of this scam is that because you get a diamond with your cash they are a legal pyramid scheme. Now for the downside. I joined and placed 4 others under me. I fronted the money for 3 of them to join. Canadian Diamond Traders tell you that you only need to sign up 2 people to move to the top. Yeah barring the other lazy f**ks do their part. Hence the risk factor. Once I single handedly filled all of the vacant spots on my table, my sponsor took her pay off and disappeared. The pyramid has not moved in the 5 months since. What pisses me off is the fact that she told me she had cashed out 3 times in the 6 weeks it took me to decide to join. Now that she got her money out of the feeder program and has moved on to the diamond program I have not heard word one from her. For the last 6 months my table has moved once and has not moved since. No one but me has done a thing to make this work and now that I am demanding my money back I can’t get anyone at Canadian Diamond Traders to answer the phone or call me back. I have faxed and emailed as well and still nothing. There was a 2 yr money back guarantee offered that also gave me a false sense of security in joining this scam. So now I have to publicize this in the media and call the RCMP fraud dept plus take them to court.
If you still want to join CDT go ahead. It’s your money.

  • Terresa Holt on August 10th, 2006 at 3:46 pm

It’s a scam. It’s a pyramid scheme. They tell you that at the start. Their justification is that because you get a diamond with your payout it’s legal. What they don’t tell you is that the risk of landing in a defunct pyramid is about 100 to 1 that you will. Once your table stops moving and your sponsor has cashed out and mysteriously disappeared with your cash your table stops moving and you lose your money. Because even though CDT offers a 2 yr money back guarentee they don’t honour it when you get angry and demand your money back because no one is doing their part and you have done more than you were suppose to. I joined and paid for 3 others to join. All I got was ripped off for my $484.00. I am now posting warnings all over the net and taking CDT to court and reporting their little scam to the RCMP and Global News.

  • Anonymous on August 23rd, 2006 at 10:06 pm

Well, I have no problem contacting with CDT on the phone. Maybe u should try to call them directly. They’re overloading with many emails and faxes from all over the world. Your anger will not solve the problem. Learn from your lesson not to lend the money to anyone. Money and friend is not good combination like oil and water. It’s not about CDT, it’s about the money you lend to someone. Let it go and move on! Just call CDT and be patience! They’ll refund ur money. Good luck!

  • Nick on September 6th, 2006 at 2:17 am

Yes, could it be that like all pyramid schemes, even though this is the case perhaps CDT’s operation of getting two people and another multiplication of this in the next cycle, in realistic theory, there wouldn’t be enough people in the world to finish the accomplishment. Perhaps I got stung?

  • Shelly on September 8th, 2006 at 12:19 pm

I dont know what happened with you, Teresa…but obviously you got on a team with people who arent willing to help you. My team members help each other and as for money back guaranteed…my friend called CDT about that and they said yes they will give you money back if you dont get your first 1/4 carat diamond after 2 years in the program. I have seen people get their diamonds and checks…it takes work and it is not a get rich quick way. It is just something to make money on the side. As for being a scam, I have had friends who hired lawyers to check it out…thumbs up. Maybe you are angry because u didnt move as fast as you thought? If people join this thinking they will make money overnight, then they are in for a rude awakening cuz it is not realistic. Takes time and some efforts. Apparently the people on your team are not working together. Hope that helps.

  • Shelly on September 8th, 2006 at 12:22 pm

Also, I have gotten thru to CDT without any problems and their reps have always been able to solve any problems for me. Yes, I get put on hold for a while but at the most, it was 15 mins. The number is 18006920750 and press 2 for customer service. If they say their mailbox is full best to call around 6 PM Eastern time.

  • Kristina on September 8th, 2006 at 5:46 pm

You need to read the website of how the CDT works.. It takes a team work to get it flowing as what I do is to keep in touch with people down below me and try to help them out as if i found a couple of people, I don’t refer them under my id user name as I will refer them to their id user so that way we keep on moving up.. most important is to know who is your downline is.. That’s why it’s called TEAMWORK! I did some investigating and it requires some work to get more sales to help others if you want to make money fast.. Remember what we are doing is gamabling and taking the risk… I can’t complain that if I lose 120 bucks… If I spend 10,000 dollars then I would be pissed.. So I can’t complain about the 120 bucks…. I am having fun as I am meeting people and they are interesting people..

We are actively pursuing closing this pyramid fraud down as we did Treasure Traders International. Join us http://www.crimebustersnow.com . we will also arrange to sue them for a very minimal disperment cost with no fees unless you win. call 905-963-3389 http://www.crimebustersnow.com

P.S. that’s “disbursement” cost with no fees unless you win. Call or email 24/7 we return calls toll free in North America and 22 Countries.

We are receiving complaints in the U.S. and now Australia about Canadian Diamond Traders. We are working with and also receiving co-operation from the Australian Government. Unfortunately the corruption in our own government in Canada is the reason citizens around the world have been defrauded in the “Women Helping Women” pyramid fraud (really “Women Exploiting Women”) Treasure Traders International (run by corrupt RCMP and other police officers,) and a host of other white collar criminal activity benefiting politicians and others of authority In Canada.

    So join us!

  • greg on September 11th, 2006 at 8:37 pm

Teresa, so much anger. Could it be the reason you haven’t succeeded yet is that you failed to do the most important part of the program: develop a network. You don’t just make it in this business by buying your friends’ a couple of ID’s and waiting. It takes work. You need your friends to find a few people too. Take it from someone who has actually made it off the feeder board and made money and diamonds with this program… it works if you put the effort in and aren’t looking to get rich quick. Get rich, yes… but over time.

  • Terresa on September 20th, 2006 at 12:19 pm

I did call CDT directly and I even faxed them. Once I finally got a hold of a human being 2 months later, I it was acknowledged that my emails and faxes were received but had been ignored. Yes you are right that I have encountered a team of slackers. Since I have put so much on the line and dragged my family into this I decided to take action and make this work out for me. My girls and I have organized into an investment group and enlisted the help of all of our friends to help us blow the slackers out of our group and move on without them. Since doing this our trading group has gone through the roof with membership and sign ups. We have groups of business people signing up in our diamond table.
So now that I have been reassured that my investment is safe I take back the scam remark. CDT does work. Just make sure you are a problem solver if you get into it. Some people are in this for the pay off with no intent to do the work but the upside to that one is these same people make great stepping stones for the ones who do the work. You cannot cash out until you do the work. At least it’s fair to all. I get give them that one.

    Warning issued over mail scams
    September 21, 2006
THE NSW Government is warning people to watch out for two North American mail scams promising huge cash rewards.

Fair Trading Minister Diane Beamer today told parliament that an illegal Canadian pyramid scheme and a get-rich-quick scam originating in Kansas were attempting to rip off people in NSW.

The Canadian Diamond Trader scheme was being promoted as a multi-level gem marketing scheme and asking for an entry fee starting at $US100 ($A133), Ms Beamer said.

She said anyone in NSW who bought into the Canadian scheme or encouraged others to participate could be fined up to $22,000.

The fine for companies getting involved in pyramid schemes is up to $110,000.

The other mail scam involves the Kansas-based Contest America Publisher, also trading as Opportunities Unlimited Publications, which promises a prize of $13,230 for those paying a $23 credit card entry fee and answering a question.

Ms Beamer said more fees were required to progress, and there was a risk of credit card details being stolen.

“Both scams lead you on with promises of large rewards from a small investment, but in the end they take your money and return you nothing,” Ms Beamer said.

    Canadian Diamond Traders
    Pyramid

Canadian Diamond Traders (CDT) is being promoted on the Internet, explaining how people can join the scheme and by recruiting others, receive a diamond and money at exit when they reach the top of the pyramid.

The website shows a pyramid diagram with four levels. Recruits place a deposit on a diamond through the website and commence on the base level as a Diamond Miner (8 positions). By recruiting others, participants progress through to Diamond Cutter (4), Polisher (2) and the top, the Diamond Collector. Once reaching the top, they supposedly receive the diamond and $3,000 cash. They are also encouraged to rejoin, which continues the scheme.

CDT’s website makes such statements as:

    * If you have $100 to invest and you know two other people with $100 to invest, you can make $3,000 over and over again;
    * You earn commissions by referring other members to the program. When they make a purchase, you get credit for the sales; and
    * The more people you directly sponsor, the faster you will cycle out and the more frequently you will cycle. The ideal is to sponsor at least two members as soon as possible.

Consumer Protection believes the scheme to be a pyramid trading scheme in breach of the Fair Trading Act.

With pyramid trading schemes, people are attracted to the prospect of earning quick money merely by recruiting other people into the scheme.

Participants risk prosecution or other legal action if they ignore warnings and become involved in this scheme. They risk fines of up to $20,000 as individuals or $100,000 if they are involved as a company.

David Thorton had nothing to do with the closing down TTI, I mean we are all happy that TTI was shut down but the only thing crimebusters can take credit for is jumping the gun and making false accusations without investigating fairly.

David Thorton obviously lost money somewhere and I feel for him, but he continues to call others corrupt eventhough he is corrupt himself. Why hide behind the loud title of a crimebuster?? when he should be titled crime-presumer!!!

i’m just thinking of becoming involed and it’s all abit confusing. where does the money come from? as in who is actually buying diamonds to generate the income for the company? or does the money come from the pooling of the initial payments we put in being constantly redistributed as the tables fill with new investors? i don’t quite get it. can anyone explain?
    thanks.

Isn’t it funny the way money and a program like this shows up in people the best and the worst. I laugh at those who just blame others for there own mistakes. I think it’s more of a risk not to do it and end up with nothing every day. If you don’t put effort into anything you wont get any results. You go to work you get paid. Simple

Canadian Diamond Traders, Inc. founder discovered.

Last Spring I heard about Canadian Diamond Traders, Inc. through my deaf friends and visited their website. The diamond table explained on the website looked kind of authentic to me. I communicated with this deaf person, “Arnold” from Toronto through e-mail. He stated he worked for that company. I asked him who the founder was, and he said there was no founder. The company was founded by a deaf team.

    He made such statements as:

    * If you have $100 to invest and you know two other people with $100 to invest, you can make $3,000 over and over again;

    * You earn commissions by referring other members to the program. When they make a purchase, you get credit for the sales; and

    * The more people you directly sponsor, the faster you will cycle out and the more frequently you will cycle. The ideal is to sponsor at least two members as soon as possible.

I invested $100 without two people under me and got $250 in return. My excitement went through the roof. I sent a thank-you note to Arnold, and he said that week would be the hottest week for me if I got 2-4 people under me and invested more. If I invested $1,000 with 2-4 people under me, I would possibly get around $10,000. My temptation increased uncontrolably, and I invested more than that.

For a few weeks after my large investment to the company, I have not received one cent in return from the company. My concerns grew, and I sent over 50 e-mail messages to them. Not one word came to my mailbox from them. I lost my $15,000 to Canadian Diamond Traders, Inc.

My anger of being tricked grew. It took me 5 months to gather deaf victims and work together to trace Arnold and other people who worked at Canadian Diamond Traders, Inc.

I received from several “anonymous” informants that there was no Arnold.

The real person is ARTHUR WIESBLATT. He is deaf.

Wiesblatt was a founder of Canadian Diamond Traders, Inc. He recruited some people to be on the board to collect over $500,000 from the diamond table. None of them got a cut from him. They have no idea where he is now.

It’s a scam. It’s a pyramid scheme. I am now posting warnings all over the net and taking Arthur Wiesblatt to court and reporting their little scam to deaf victims.

Please do not invest your money to Canadian Diamond Traders, Inc. or Arthur Wiesblatt. If you are a victim, join us http://www.crimebustersnow.com, we will also prepare to file a complaint against Wiesblatt for a very minimal disperment cost with no fees unless you win.

Come on, Pyramid? Pyramid only allows those at top most or joined earlier to earn. Obviously you not know it is ban worldwide. FOR CDT, even if I join in later, but if I recruited more people and faster, I earn faster. I can open more accounts and earn more than my upline or the one who referred me(have to work harder of course). How can that be pyramid?MLM? Matrix(Isn’t matrix pyramid)? Don’t think so coz no monthly maintenance. It is a unique program but nonetheless a network program. Can anyone out there guarantee me that other network programs out there which are better like one time low investment(equal to or less than $100), no need to recruit or network, no monthtly maintenace and guaranteed return in one month? Proof and show your returns in bank statement?

If there isn’t any then shut up!Just because you are lazy, everythings are frauds and scams! Then lotto, other MLMs, internet marketings, also scams cause you invest money but no returns. Coz after you invest you hope for miracle to happen. Well it will never happen even if you join any other programs on planet earth dumbo! Yes, MLMs dealing with health products you see and taste the products. But can you maintain it out of your own pocket money monthly without getting returns if you do not have any downlines. It is the same if you buy it from any pharmacies but the only difference is that you cannot get that product there at cheaper price. The products are good and expensive so that they can pay your upline commisions.

If you put your money in stocks, gold, shares can you guarantee me positive returns in less than one month. Are you a certified fund managers expert? I heard there are cases of millionaires becoming paupers in one night. Can David Thornton help those peoples? Or can anyone else? I have purchase many MLMS health products which claim can cure but end up loosing thousands of dollars. Well I am not cured, but they claim I have to continuously eat to maintain. So, the products only contain and maintain your health, not cure. Cure means I take for one year and can stop consuming and still be healthy, right? If not, it just maintain so that my health will not get worse.

But my main objective when I join was to make money which I didn’t. So all of them also frauds. Your boss earn more money for your hardwork, so call your boss a FRAUD and see what happen to you! Think rationalely and say logically!Casinos are not FRaud?Hence many gamble and loose money!!Come on tell me one thing in life that does not involved risk. Please think before u answer me coz I hate illogical thinking. Marriage, giving birth, saving lives, working(no iron rice bowls, hazards at workplace etc), having sex(aids, diseases, cramps,)driving, all involve risk.Risk levels are different only. So why you still complaint.Typical right?!! Thousands joined so millions should complain!!!So all advertisements are facts or exxagerated to win consumers. So sue all advertisers in the world, ok?

    Thomas,

I dont know who you are but what you just stated about CDT being started by a deaf group is totally inaccurate. First of all..you said you recieved a $250 return for signing up without your 2 sales. That doesnt happen with the real CDT. With the real CDT, we dont get $250 for signing up. Then, you stated you couldnt contact anyone…CDT has a corporate office with their address, phone number and email addresses. I have contacted CDT several times and have gotten through a representative. I am deaf myself and I had to use the relay to talk to a hearing representative so how is that CDT is being run by a deaf group?

I dont know if you got fooled by someone claiming to be CDT and gave them money but the real CDT headquarters are listed on the candiamonds.com website.

I am tired of reading about people from crimebusters.com making false claims about CDT being a scam. One guy from that website sent me an email accusing me of being part of a team to scam people out of their money and sent my email to various government agencies. What he didnt realize that like everyone else, I joined CDT to make extra money and market it but I am NOT the founder of CDT and now I read that some other deaf guy is the founder. Stop using deaf people as the scapecoats to make all these allegations. That is so wrong! It shows me that crimebusters.com is so ready to jump on the bandwagon without carefully checking out all sources and doing follow-ups.

The real CDT was founded by Jay Waterman.

    Monday, November 13, 2006 …..

*Maryland* officials respond to complaints about pyramid schemes

    *by Stephanie Wentworth

    *

    *Contributing writer*

After receiving more than a dozen recent complaints, Maryland officials
are warning people to guard against pyramid schemes.

Since the end of October, the state has received 15 inquiries regarding
a pyramid scheme targeted at deaf people. A Canadian company is
soliciting residents to sell diamonds, says Kevin Enright, a spokesman
for the Maryland attorney general’s office.

Pyramid schemes — mock businesses that earn money primarily from
recruiting members and charging them fees rather than by selling
products or services — are illegal in Maryland.

“Many people promote pyramid schemes out of ignorance and do not
    realize
they are engaging in illegal and harmful behavior,” Attorney General J.
Joseph Curran says in a news release.

Some pyramid schemes offer a product or service to disguise their true
nature. The product or service may be overpriced or have a questionable
value, like exotic vitamins, health tonics and gemstones of uncertain
origins, a state news release says.

The state released a new investor-education brochure with tips to
identifying pyramid schemes that make be masked under the name
    multilevel marketing plans.

  • Jo on November 14th, 2006 at 10:04 pm

By the way Thomas, where the hell do you get off by saying, “The company was founded by a deaf team.” And your little friend who’s “deaf” has mistaken his facts. I am deaf myself and when people in general acknowledged that a deafie may be running some scam has asked me about this business. If you looked into http://www.bbb.org and the CDT founder’s name is right there as “Mr. Jihad Waterman, Director.”

Alike the GEICO tv commercials with cavemen. Think twice about targeting a community you would wish that you did your homework a little bit better.

CDT is based on pyramid scheme, it requires upfront cash, and you need to recruit people. Promises rewards (diamonds/gems) and cash in the end. It will be classifield as pyramid scheme, in a very soon future. State Attorney of Maryland is now investaging CDT, and just had a press release, warning of pyramid scheme(s) such as QUIXSTAR, CDT, and thousand other pyramid schemes online.

I am a success story through CDT. I have collected twice and I’ve been with the company for a year now. I have not put one bit of effort into the business and barely ever monitor my boards. I have recruited only one person and they are also finding great returns with this investment. CDT is a crazy cycle! it works, and it IS NOT AN MLM scam. i been there i dont that, and this company for the first time is legitimate.

For some it may take a while therefore they get really skeptical. all i know is that when you do eventually make a gain, you will be sooooo happy. i invested 500 us and got back 3000us plus a half carat diamond. i sold the diamond for 1000 and im very content.

How can it be a scam when tonnes of regular people just like you and me are investing $500 USD and getting a return of $2,875 USD plus a diamond valued at over $2,500 USD time and time again?

Many people which I have known for years, many of them whom have struggled to make money with other business models, are getting back a lot of cash and diamonds in this program.

There truly is a 2-year money-back guarantee if you refer 2 people in your first year; after 2 years, you will get a full refund.

If you believe that investing $500 and referring 2 people in your first year in order to get a return valued at $5,375 plus be automatically re-entred into the program at no further cost over and over in order to be able to get another return of $5,375 each time is a great investment opportunity especially with a 2-year money-back guarantee, then this is definitely for you.

I wouldn’t pass up this opportunity.

    Hello to all CDT bloggers.

I have joined CDT and have no regret ever since. Please visit my site and you will notice that I have included referral links of canadian banks that do accept the checks paid from CDT.
It’s all true and I do not like to waste any one time or money since I am a mother of twins and I work hard for my money. The revenue generated once one cycles out is taxable. I am with a team that some of the traders have maid over $120 000 in 2006 some little less and some more !!! CDT is also part of the american chamber of commerce in Canada. I have a link to their site as well. There is more than 75 000 accounts that are presently active in CDT and those people are from all over the world.

I am from Gatineau, Quebec, Canada.
    Thanks for your time.

    Hello…

Today was the first time I ever read this website and I read ALL of your comments.

I’m a member of CDT and this is a simple LEGAL system that works!

With CDT, the original $120 or $520 is the ONLY time you ever pay any money out of your pocket and that is a diamond deposit.

There is no “rich guy at the very top” in this program which is why this is NOT a pyramid. This is a revolving system so you get to share the chance of being at the top with your family and friends.

I’ve called CDT several times and I had no problems getting through to a representative and they accurately answered all of my questions.

As with anything else, there is no way you can become RICH overnight without lifting a finger. It does take time to move up the tables but after you have recruited more than just two and your downline have done the same, then it will become a regular cycle and you will get your money and diamond quicker.

If you decide you would like to check this awesome program out, please use my name as your referral id.

    Thanks!

As far as you detecting this as a fraud, you are absolutely right. Treasure Traders was taken down and I am confident we will do the same with CDT. Please contact me.

Be sure the diamonds were not mined by minors who are continually abused and over worked, etc. Find out where those diamonds come from.

  • Marc on December 14th, 2006 at 9:09 pm

They are doing a great job. CDT sells diamonds and help people make money. A friend of mine will make aproximately 30k this year with this program. At only 120$-520$ to start, what more can you ask for?

  • David Thornton on December 23rd, 2006 at 9:01 am

  • Paul on December 24th, 2006 at 3:04 pm

When this program came out,i was quite skeptical about joining it cause’ it requires usd500 fee to join.I wasn’t really into that kinda diamond stuff so i actually passed it up a few times. But later on when the usd100 table was introduced,i joined up with a team thru my friend and opened 2 feeder accounts with CDT.Now both my accounts have cycled out and i have progressed onto DTP table at polisher position. What i want to say is that for programs like this,it takes time for it to work just like any other investment you might think of.You really need to have a team to work with or you will get nowhere as an individual. It takes TEAMWORK to make DREAMS work!

p.s I once joined a fund that is being managed by a bank. That fund last for 5 years and it offered a “no-risk” guarantee and returns. So i signed up and put in $5000 with them. But after 5 years…what i got back is lesser than $5000!Minus the monthly charges for maintaining the account…i made losses instead!I wonder what did they do with the money….and you called that a legimate business huh?!

Further to the posting above these are comments of the Judge of the Ontario Superior Court.

“[4] There is no evidence in the material they [TTI BIM] filed before the court to explain the manner in which their businesses actually operate, or to permit those business to be distinguished from the “pyramid sales” schemes against which the respondend Thornton campaigns so vigorously, and the operation of which in Canada is contrary to both the Competition Act and the Criminal Code.”….

“[24] …..Thornton himself effectivly acknowledges that he hopes he has caused them irreparable harm. There is no doubt that his intent was to provide warnings to the public regardless of the harm it might cause to the plaintiffs, or indeed to others who might be engaged in similar schemes.”….

Now, I am stating clearly and simply in these postings: Canadian Diamond Traders is exactly another of those illegal schemes and scams.

The Judge continues “[25]….. then no “irreparable harm” would seem capable of being legally established by the TTI and BIM. The reason is simple. It seems obvious to me that our courts would not excercise their equitable jurisdiction to grant the extrodinary remedy of an injunction to prevent alleged “irreparable harm” to be suffered by an illegal business, and to cause the conduct of one who seeks to stop the carrying on of such illegal pursuits to be enjoined….”

“[33]…..The Plaintiffs claim this Court ought to shut down Thornton because he loudly and publically questions their legality and warns fellow citizens against being caught up in their alleged web of deception.”

[34] In this case, Thornton showed the Court how the “game board” is a virtual exact replica of the “game board” used in the Women in Power pyramid sales scheme. Pyramid sales schemes and the manner in which they operate and the harm they cause were discussed by the Ontario Court of Appeal in R. v. Mckenzie, [1982] O.J. No. 415 (O.C.A) and more recently in R. v. Richardson, [1999] O.J. No. 5160 (O.J.O.).” ….. The Court understands the need to to scrutinize carefully …. the activities and motivations of self appointed champions, such as Thornton. However, the threshold for scrutiny is lower in a case such as this, in my view, where the self appointed champion has raised a serious doubt that the businesses of the plaintiffs are legitimate business ventures that have the right to be protected by our law.”

“[35] In the absence of evidence that even begins to rebut the assertions made by, Thornton, and faced with the prospect of the Plaintiffs coming to court to request equitable relief when it seems that their own hands may well be far from clean, there is no doubt in my mind that the balance of convenience favours Thornton.” – END

Now, what can I explain beyond that, or what does anyone need beyond that to convince you that Canadian Diamond Traders is a cleverly disguised criminal pyamid fraud operated by clever criminals, their unethical and reprehensible lawyers and accountants …..Shades of Enron anyone???

All this talk about pyramids, what about the diamonds?

I see from the CDT online store that the diamonds are color treated.
Has anyone actually in the program actually sold any diamonds?
If so, was the treatement disclosed?
Are the prices fair compared to other similar treated diamonds?
Is this business founded on selling the diamonds or just recruiting new members?

  • tuxedo on January 27th, 2007 at 6:00 am

    Alawole,

I am a member and I have not cashed out yet.

I am pretty discouraged because I am on a board with people who have not worked on their part.

HOWEVER, although the system works like a pyramid, and anyone with half a brain can see that, it is defenitely NOT a SCAM. If everyone does what they know they need to do when they sign up, which is bring in 2 investors, the boards do move and people do get paid. I’ve seen many of my friends get paid.

The down side is that when the boards split, you may get on with teams of people you don’t know adn that is where things can come to a screeching halt.

But to call it a scam in wrong. David Thorton appears to have used this website for his own agenda and that is to promote his crimebusters BUSINESS. Maybe one should be looking into his motives. I don’t know him, maybe he is a “hero” in his own mind, but after reading this site today, and seeing all the time he spends on it, I detect irrational anger from someone who has nothing better to do.

I say JOIN with open eyes. There will always be negative people who are disgruntled by their own efforts or lack thereof.
Although I haven’t been paid, I know it is not because this is a scam. It is a risk and if everyone else on my board was as worried about losing their $500 as everyone complaining about losing theirs, maybe they would get off their duff, get their people listed and the boards would start moving again.

Have a nice day “David”, God bless you, you seem to be lacking in a life, I will pray for you.

  • Christine on January 31st, 2007 at 3:22 pm

My husband and I never got involve with amway, quitar, ete. because you have to pay alot of money to join in and then try to get others to join behind you.. It’s too much work trying to convince someone to join in.

Then someone talked to us about Canadian Diamond Traders, INC.. It sound too good to be true.. Getting diamonds and $2500 sounds good for me to be able to pay off some bills. So, my husband went ahead and signed up last week and we have not even started getting two people..

Then I started to read all this with Scammers, Illegal Pyramid, etc stories.. I am not sure if I even want to pursue this.. I don’t want to lose anymore money than I already have.. I did put in $120.. But would hate to lose anymore money.. As I have been looking at the cycle, it is a pyramid but we continue to recycle.. We are in a pyramid system.. When you look at it what does it looks like.. A Triangle.. What is the shape of triangle??? It’s a pyramid.. It does not look right.. If Canadian Diamond Trader, INC had change their way of recruiting people maybe it would not look like a pyramid but it is a pyramid… I hate to say this but it looks suspicious.. I would do more research on this… For those who already gotten their diamonds, I suggest you take it to a Jewerly store and have it checked out.. If it is a real thing, then share that to everyone.. But as of right now, it could be fake…

I don’t want to be one of those naive deaf people getting caught up into something illegal.. I need to do what is right for me and my family.. Losing money would not be fun.. Plus you will never get it back.. When you lose money, it’s GONE!!!!!

    Thanks for reading!!!!

HAVE YOU HEARD!!!!!!!!! CDT IS LEGAL, THEIR BUSINESS AND MARKETING STRATEGY HAS BEEN ANALYZED AND DECLARED LEGAL. THEY ARE SENDING OUT THE DOCUMENTS TO EVERYONE AND TWO LAW FIRMS HAVE INVESTIGATED AND PUT THEIR NAMES TO IT, THAT CDT IS LEGAL. HOW AMAZING!

What do you have to say about this DAVE…..they have proof that they are legal….where is your proof that you are allowed to collect donations?

Dave, all I constantly see is your comments, your opinions, your supposed victories….but why did Maryland officials not say Canadian Diamond Traders in their article? and Why is it that crimebusters is not noted anywhere for their good work in helping to solve and dissolve schemes out there? You say A LOT, but you have to come with more that your opinion, you are coming off as a real irate old man with nothing better to do with his life; who has no meaning to or purpose and is trying to have a voice in this world. Come with some facts explaining your opinions.

I don’t think it’s a scam either. After all, I seen the proof of people getting their diamonds & marketing fee. I join on Jan.6th and have already got my first diamond from the $120 table. Now I’m on the $520 table. I have other people on my table that’s getting ready to do the same as I.

When you join, you have to realize. You must work as a Team. Or you going to go no where fast. The more people you have under you the better everyone will be. A person that sign up, can’t expect to cycle out. If their not going to Market the diamonds. And tell other people about the system.

The only thing, I dislike is that the table spilt’s. Making you have to work that much harder. As I try to keep close contact with everyone on my tables. Good thing, I no everyone that’s one there. At least there only a phone call away.

ok… What lame arguments about CDT… I am a member, and i have done nothing for over a year, But i have still moved up on the chart. I havent made money…. but I assume its normal to not make money doing nothing. I understand how the program works very well, and every member has an equal chance of making money… for those of you checking it out…. there are hundreds of blogs discussing wheather its a scam or not…. Most of them have David Thorton
saying bad things about it, and trying to get you to hire his buisness to go to court for you…. wow what a concept. many other people are sayig bad things too, I’ve read pages of it…. and none of them even took the time to see what it really is…. they take quotes from David thorton and try to make it look Bad, it was accused of being illegal in austrailia, but once taken to court… CDT won…. so NOW seeing all sides of this big debate, and that nobody has anything credible to say against CDT… i am pumped to go market some diamonds and make money… I encourage all of you who are involved but havent made money yet to do the same…. instead of assuing its a scam…. I just found out you need to Invoice cdt for your marketing, so dont forget to do that before expecting to recieve a check… have fun marketing…. And it this helped you make your descision to join CDT, please, be fair, write me as your reference: “thrilinframe” you can e my first referal…lol

This is March 25 2007. Six days ago a simple request was made of Rowland; and that was to simply produce the file# and the Australia Court where Canadian Diamond Traders won their case. I would have thought Roland would have such information before posting such bold and legal statements that could impact on the decisions of many people; particularly the bushman on the outer Australian Islands (verage anual wage apparently only $2500) now being targeted by a very smooth talking fellow named Bishop, who was introduced to this fraudulent pyramid scheme CDT by none other than the former Miss Australia, or so it was claimed on a CDT web site that mysteriously disappeared only days after I happen to mention that web site to authorities over there.

Just what kind of games is Jay Waterman and these criminals playing here!!!???

Any way, it should only take a simple phone call to Canadian Diamond Traders, or an e-mail, that is, if they answer the phone or reply to your e-mail. I’m sure the court decision is something this criminal scammer, Jay Waterman, in Canada would be only too happy to brag about.

All we need, and all we request is be informed of the Court file# and the Australian Court where this amazing precedent setting case was heard. No big deal. Call the Ontario Superior Court in Milton Ontario and ask for the file# of Treasure Traders International and Business in Motion V. David John Thornton. No problem.

If you look at the exhibits presented in that case; it is the exact same pyramid scheme that the crook Jay Waterman is running. The scheme was ruled a violation of both the Competition Act and section 206 (1)(e) of the Criminal Code of Canada. That is already proved.

So again, where is the proof of you court case Rowland, Jay Waterman, the slick shyster lawyers or any other agents or employees of Canadian Diamond Traders?

You brag about your affiliation with that other scummy agency; the American Chamber of Commerce; AmCham, the Government “Queen’s Counsel’s” Criminal lawyer that CDT claims reviewed this B.S., the Ontario Management Board of Cabinet CDT implied legalized this B.S., etc., ect., and now Rowland you claim you have the “icing on the cake;” that of a spectacular win in the Australian Court; and you don’t want to share that with us? TSK, TSK.

How come! doesn’t that make some you victims and potential victims sort of “scratch your head?” It certainly does me.

  • Greg on June 4th, 2007 at 3:59 pm

    CDT Bull S#!t

    Balanced Split :

As you advance from miner to cutter and cutter to polisher and polisher to collector you will notice a change in your marketing team at every position. This is due to the marketing teams` expansion and subsequent diamond table split. You will find members of your previous marketing team are no longer with you. They are now on other diamond tables; forming a new marketing team as you also will be.
Often times those who split away from you are the Diamond Traders that referred you or the Diamond Traders that were referred by you. The reason behind this is because every time you move up a position there are half as many spaces to fill. In the miner position there are 8 openings, the cutter position only four, the polisher position just 2, and finally at the collector position there can only be one.
How does the system determine who goes where? The system through various mathematic equations splits the accounts according to what it sees as equally balancing the teams. Though to the account holders this may appear random; however it is structured within the algorithms of the system, to place the accounts in the manner that the account holder views them. Allowing the computer to determine where the accounts are placed allows for the system to remain fair without any human intervention, fear of favoritism or retribution.

Almost 2 years in and after the tables split and I got to collector it went dead.

So did all of the people I brought in.

    CDT you suck

We have only received enough money to buy a $700 camera to record protests, but we need a little bit of financial help to draw attention to these Canadian frauds. The media could not ignor thousands of emails and a Canadian raising hell over a Canadian fraud that stole from the deaf community in the U.S. and world-wide!!!!

It’s never been done before. I will do it! I will do it for every victim, every senior, the deaf and high school kids defrauded by these “Pied Pipers of Corporate Corrution.” That’s a promse, I just require a little assistance.

Since I had warned my good Christian Deaf friends the CDT is illegal well back in early February, now all are my enemies and they treat me a dirt or “black sheep”. I still don’t understand how evil CDT scammers are doing with Christian Deaf friends to make them gullible. Most of them claimed that Jesus ” helps” you to success your life with money. I felt hurtsick over their ungoldy idea . My concern is the way of what they believe is twisted and like a cult . They hate others who are trying to help and concern of any honest situation. They are angry for hearing the truthhurt and want to get anyone under their table to blindly cheat them. They still believe that they “will receive their refund” after two year. Don’t know if they are playing Christians since they rejected the honesty and still believe CDT is their ” King” (MONEY) I believe they will feel ashame when they get a fool in the end.

  • David Thornton on September 14th, 2007 at 1:30 am

I have told you for years now that I would, and I could help victims of CDT especially the world-wide deaf community but I am unable to do it alone. You need to pitch in on this fight and also to prevent other well mask frauds coming your way.

Now, there is an election going on in the Province of Ontario. There’s no point in me going election meetings alone complaining that thousands and thousands of people are being ripped off in the deaf community when I don’t have one victim standing beside me.

I am not a direct and victim of a pyramid scheme. I was victimized when I attempted to help others. If anyone from the U.S. could come to an election meeting here in Canada it would make a huge impact; especially at least one senior and one student.

So, you people that have in “duped” and have lost money, and signed up your family members and friends into this fraud only to see them also lose their hard earned money money, contact people in the deaf community in and around the Toronto area and ask them to attend the candidates meeting, where, with some representation beside me I can put your concerns to these politicians who are assisting this dirty money laundering and racketeering crook Jay Waterman making millions “on your backs”

I will do it. You ask for help. But I need your HELP to find to help you. just do it!!!

  • Ayodele on September 16th, 2007 at 6:11 pm

Hello all. I am from Lagos, Nigeria but reside in Sydney, Australia. I am an active member of Canadian Diamond Traders. I was referred exactly 11 months ago today. I too am very upset with the way they have previously handled things. Previously I cycled out of the main table 2 times in 6 weeks (yes, believe it) and guess what…it took me HUNDREDS of phone calls and emails and 7 months later..my diamonds and money arrived! I really was (and still am a bit) not happy with the way things were conducted. I was told many times they were having problems with the courier companies (that said Nigeria is a high risk country) like DHL and FedEx and that they were not willing to deliver to certain countries. I got the run around so many times from their so called customer service reps that I deceied to call Fedex andDHL Canada DIRECTLY and finally confirmed that there was a problem. Diamonds were being held at Customs in Lagos (for some of my downline) and also being held in Australia as well. There were too many times I called and was lied to that my diamonds would be here shortly. They never called me to update me on the status. TRUTH WAS that they had no idea when I would get it and worse they were SO unprofessional about it. The rest of the people in my group also got their diamonds and money so we invested more int the company but we r still not happy about receiving coloured diamonds all the time! All aside, I heard that they were coming to Australia so I went to the convention they held at the Conrad Jupiters and I couldn’t believe how young the CDT Directors were..it may explain their lack of professionalism or may I say that they are entrepreneurs and perhaps they were not ready to accomodate the instant boom in their business. I met and shook hands with them…I made it a point to. I was very happy that they took the time out to and had the GUTS to face their audience;the Australian govt as well as some very unhappy clients. They flew halfway across the world and swallowed their pride and I think that is the definition of TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Their name has been slaughtered allover the globe and they are still in business. They have changed a bit but are still lacking in many ways but I pray that they maintain this pattern and realize that we are the reason that their business is growing. But I feel that many on this forum have not really tried. ALL companies hve policies whether we find them fair or not. I think it would b too easy if you were able to join and get out in no time because you were not happy. How would they stay in business. These types of businesses are risky but they are not ALL scams but you must WORK to make money and if you have many people that think likewise then YOU WILL succeed. If not..then expect NOTHING! How many of you have u ever tried to establish your own business? Try it..it is not easy. I say this in good faith.I was once part of the disgruntled but these things CAN and DO work if you ALL want it to..TEAMWORK is a NECESSITY, PERIOD! We all come from different backgrounds and ecomonies and I notice that the people that complain most (about not doing well) are North Americans (just an observation) and are not trying!! IF AT FIRST U DONT SUCCEED,U TRY & TRY AGAIN! FOR THE SKEPTICS I ask that you please do these things:
    1. If you have any pending issues with CDT call them NOW, email them or visit their office if you live close by.
2.Mr. Thorton, if YOU can PROVE they are illegal…PLEASE SHOW US REAL PROOF! Stop asking for money after copying and pasting quotes and articles. Anyone can say anything about any company. PROOF! PROOF! PROOF! Stop asking the angry people for money, they aleady feel tht they have been duped and you want themto shell out more after trying toconvince themthat you are SURE you’ll win the case . WOW! Someone with your status should be able to foot the bill and deduct the expense from your winnings (you know..AFTER you win the case against CDT..lol). I THINK you may be a scam or I my be wrong. But proof is needed please. I do not appreciate someone (especially a hypocrite) trying to ruin my business because they are not capable of establishing their own client base & find it easier to steal from a company that ALREADY has many unhappy clients!!!

PEOPLE WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE!! YOU DONT HAVE TO BELIEVE IN CDT BUT IF YOU BELIEVE THEY HAVE SCAMMED YOU ALREADY THEN DON’T BE SCAMMED TWICE BY SENDING YOUR MONEY TO DAVID THORNTON TOO!

And to CDT..please please please continue to get better not WORSE. We have a good thing going here.

I come in peace. God bless you all!

Hi, I’m from Cape Town, South Africa and I am an active member of CDT. I joined them on 9th August and within 5 weeks I have been able to cycle out of the first board and I’m currently on the main Diamond (DTP) Table. I have in the interim purchased a second site and within one week I progressed from miner to polisher. It takes true commitment to achieve success. Marlon, if you are the same person who attended our presentation last night 28th September (whom I suspect you are), I want to say to you. Joining CDT as we have said at the presentation is a personal choice. All we are doing is giving you helpful information and what you do with it, is your business. You are not being pushed or bamboozled into anything. We have displayed proof of the legalities which included documents with SARS’ stamp of approval, Fedex documents, and photos of our friends with their diamonds (with certificate of authenticity) and cash after cycling out. We even challenged you “If you are still concerned and skeptical, go and do a thorough investigation yourself”. Please don’t influence others with your negative attitude and your supposed smartass implications. If you don’t want to enhance your own lifestyle then stay where you are in your little corner, don’t try dampening the spirits of those who are striving for change and improvement in their lifestyles. Also, I think you have the audacity to question your friend’s sincerity. He thought he was doing good by offering you a chance in a lifetime and see what he gets in return. “A conniver who went behind his back not thinking someone else would come across this web page”. Shame on you! Don’t you think he would be careful in considering (pulling) as you called it his friends and family into a scam? And you still have the nerve to call him a close friend. If I was him, I would discard you in a second. I most certainly would not want a friend like you who mistrust my judgment. I believe, if you can’t trust someone else then you can’t trust yourself. Think like a thief and you are one. You don’t need to be concerned for his other friends and family, let them make their own decisions. “One will never know if something works unless you try it” I am all for taking up a challenge. Seems I have more guts than you do. In future, also check your spelling before sending messages, the way you spelt approach and legal is not the way its spelt here in S.A. I thought a bright spark like you would know better. To any interested parties I would like to state that the reason why we approach our friends and families, is because we care about their wellbeing and would like them also to share and benefit from something we believe in and it most certainly is not to enrich ourselves on their behalf. We would like an equal opportunity for all. I look forward to taking a lot more of my friends and family along on this great journey of independence. My advice to people who are really serious about improving their lifestyle and want to join CDT is this “to be successful, make sure that the people whom you bring on board are as serious as you are and willing to work equally hard towards their goals and success. All will benefit in the end” I believe in what I am doing and where I intend going. To all those loyal CDT members, Enjoy your ride to wealth and freedom and keep striving for the best!

Wow what a battle I have been researching this business for a while and their negative out weigh the positive but they are still up and running also they say on their main website that they won a legal battle in australia.I feel Like the kid on the phone commercial at this point I.D.K. (I don,t know) LOL!One thing is for sure though their is too much negative publicity surrounding them to be able to put on a good advertising campaign. This is the first thing on top of any successful marketers mind or business owner for that and good advise especially for some interested in just getting started.
    To: David J. Thorton
I was wondering if you have any advise for prosecuting Don Lapre former business that just shut down over a month ago and has left many representatives hanging and making them ridiculous offers for their troubles like the chance to join another business that required 7,000 dollars down and a 400 dollar a month commitment. He also took the product he was selling and replaced it wit another product all vitamins in nature and is trying to pass it off as the next business to replace the old one.Problem is the old business that he offered with all the add ons that they hit you with after you purchase the original offer were all bogus and he never fullfilled his contractual agreement for them. The business was 39.95 to become an affiliate advertiser for them and the add ons could take you well beyond 10,000 plus dollars.I was reviewing this company and testing their services before he got shut down by the FBI for postal fraud.Which at the time I had basically came to the conclusion that his entire operation was seeming more like a moonshine distillery in the middle of the dessert. He never lived up to any of his contractual agreements and now their is nothing but a cooming soon sign on all of the affilliates websites and his main site http://www.greatestvitaminsintheworl.com if you could give me some input as to what coarse of action you would recomend I take I would greatly appreciate it.Also many affiliate advertisers involved invested roughly an average of 1,ooo to 5,000 dollars. Thanks for any advice david.

I would also assist in setting up a site for all affiliates involved to gather in case a class action lawsuit is taken many are interested and willing to participate I am sure the crowd would grow rapidly if they had a place to get together and new someone was representing them.

If it suggests a new member to prepare a significant amount of money (say >USD30) to jump in and to get friends to do the same thing, then it is a pyramid scam.

I have something to say to you. You are an ignorant, self-centred pompous person. Your example used in response to my comment of 28th September does not make any sense to me since the one thing has nothing to do with the other. If you are so SMART by being president (as you so broadly advertise) of Crime Busters, how come you can’t understand plain simple english? Taking up a challenge on an opportunity afforded you, and having the guts to follow through is what I meant by “One will never know if something works unless you try it” Note: I said “if something works” (positive thinking). My comment has absolutely nothing to do with disaster like a house on fire and burnt victims (that’s a poor and sad comment). If you are trying to bring a message across, try using another illustration. I might be female and a mere Secretary but that does not make me an idiot!!! I am one tough cookie and won’t allow you to shake my foundation. To all you CDT, keep going strong, I am I close to cycling out with more sites in tow. Our guys have the proof that CDT is genuine. The have the cash and the diamonds on hand. You go CDT!!!

How incredibly sad that there are those that spin such a ‘mess’ on purpose! These are the types of people that damage our industry. This type of controversy and people like this ruin a very legitimate industry in multi-level marketing. I am not in CDT. I work with an elite team in a company that is over 20 years old. Rock solid. Our team has made over 150 millionairs in the last 18 years, thousands of people that retired from their J-O-B and we are still doing everyday by teaching others about our industry, the power of leverage and how to build to succeed. If you are missing any of the 3 critical pieces you will fail. Rock Solid company, Great leadership/mentorship, and a product that is consumable and emotional you won’t succeed. We have proven the industry is very legitimate. Unfortuanately out of the over 4800 companies that have begun as network marketing only 7 have thrived over 20 years. Our company is one of them. It saddens me that David Thornton and dishonest people like him our out there trying to damage our industry. I am all for going after those that are truly wrong. I think people that blackmail and slander for money should be locked up.

There are those of us out there that know how to build very successful businesses world wide. WE are real. WE can show you how to do this if you are truly looking for a business opportunity that will be there for you and your families and future. If you are willing to learn & work, you will succeed with the right people. We can prove it.

There are those out there that are scams, or just missing some key parts and a good person, product or business fails because it is missing one of the key cornerstones it has to have. That doesn’t make them a scam, just another failed business.

There are those that intentionally set out to be criminals. These are those that want to steal, hurt, and rob people. They live the LIE and they ruin what healthy network marketing is and can do.

Don’t lose your faith in true network marketing companies due to wicked men like you have seen here. This really is the best business in the world to create millionairs and to create wealth. I’d be happy to validate our industry and show you that there is success stories.

I wish you all the best. I truly do. That is what it is all about, right?

    Much Success To You All!
    Tammy D.
p.s. for those of you in South Africa we have a great new team over there and we are personally mentoring them to success. If you want to meet others that are creating solid business they’d love to meet you. Whatever you do, do your research, make sure it has all the critical components and be willing to learn and work. I wish you all the best.

As for people like David, that is horrible…shame on you!

  • John Kohr on December 10th, 2007 at 8:38 am

Interesting you guys must be right looks like he droped out of site.I am still interested in finding someone who would be interested in pursuing a class action lawsuit against the worlds greatest vitamin/don lapre.

During the meeting with the CDT’s Director of Research and Development, David Thornton was educated on the inner workings of the company, how it differed from other businesses, and why it was legal. Unable to humble himself and admit that he was wrong about the things he had written about CDT, he presented this offer: If CDT gives him a couple thousand dollars he will admit defeat and work on CDT’s behalf. Who is the criminal now? In both an email to CDT and on a phone call David said “Why don’t we quietly do this? You take me to court, sue me, and I’ll agree with your side. You guarantee me $200,000 if I lose, and I’ll come on board with you.” Never mind that on his own website he is asking people on mass for donations to buy a minivan to drive around in with ‘Crime Busters Now’ on the side, the man who is leeching money off of the little guy for his asinine crusade now thinks he has a bigger fish on the hook.

David, who was once charged for the attempted rape and physical assault of his ex-wife, allegedly attacking her because she was a part of a business opportunity and who later left him; is unable to continue the battle with her, and so he has taken the battle against everyone that believes in freedom. David can often be heard giving long ego enriching speeches about his glory days when he interrupted the business practices of other companies most notably TTI, a now defunct company, once run by Allen Kippax. His claim to fame is having brought down this already failing company in court. Upon further investigation this turns out to be false and misleading delusions of grandeur.

I’m very tired to heard people talk abut cdt like this, this is a very good opportunity to make money. People speak about that but they know nothing, for people who don’t believe in CDT, don’t worry, it’s not a scam.

  • Unconvinced on May 21st, 2008 at 11:34 am

    Hi all,

I’m also from South African and have been approached by a CDT rep(?). Im not saying its illegal and i’m not saying its legal. All I want to know is how can you claim its above board using people who received their diamonds etc as example? Bank robbers (maybe a more apt example in SA would be hijackers lol) also receive something, the money (or car) they stole. Do not get me wrong, I’m not saying those of you who are involved are stealing, all I’m saying is that you can’t use a success story to prove wether it is legal or not.
However, all of you are very aggressive in defending CDT, it makes me wonder. . . . . “Methinks the lady doth protest too much” – Shakespeare

  • Alpha on June 12th, 2008 at 12:51 pm

    To Unconvinced:

The best way is to check the information online yourself. Canadian Diamond Traders has indeed won the court case in Australlia, and furthermore is endorsed by the majority who seem to know anything about it. Like in any other investment company, there will be those disgruntled who believe that they have been scammed. In reality, it is exactly like any other position in any work – you do nothing, you get nothing. This is the problem that a lot of people encounter. Many are told that this is a get rich quick scheme, and when they realize it isn’t, they are the first ones to label it a scam. Think about how it would be if you approached a job in this way – You show up on the first day, do absolutely nothing, and subsequently get fired. Are you going to be angry that the comapny scammed you out of the money you spent on gas to get there?

The reason why some people so vehemently defend CDT is because of people like David Thornton who seem utterly devoted to destroy any business he can (and attempt to reap the profits). He attacked the company over and over again with absolutely no proof. Every article or link that he posted either (a) mentioned that CDT was BEING investigated (not determined illegal) or (b) completely unrelated to CDT.

    For example:

As written by David Thornton above:

“Please for god sake click on this link and read the truth instead of being sucked in with lies from this dirty damn lying criminal JAY WATERMAN.

    http://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/fandd/2000/03/jarvis.htm

Please come back to this forum and let us know if you still believe CDT is a legitimate business or a fraud.”

The link points to a long and lengthy article about Albania’s growing financial sector and how pyramid companies have taken advantage of it. Thats about as related to the discussion at hand as stating that you should not go to the beach in California because it’s raining in Europe.

Pyramid scheme…no people….the playing field is the same for everyone. Private corporations…Now that is where the pyramid scheme really is.

  • Debra MacGregor on August 2nd, 2009 at 1:55 pm

I recently investigated CDT, and came to the conclusion that in spite of the negative vibe of this and other blogs, the company seems very legitimate. In the first place it is NOT a fly by night type of operation, having been around for 6 yrs now. The company is a wholesaler of diamonds, and is based in Toronto, Canada. You can purchase your diamond for full price on the internet, or put a deposit on one and find two other people to purchase their diamond from CDT, instead of another company. The diamonds purchased from CDT are certified by the same company that certified the diamond my husband purchased from a well-know jewellery chain in London, Ontario. As to the pyramid allegation, in Canada, for the true definition of an “illegal pyramid”, the product itself would have little to no value, or demand. This is obviously not the case here, I cannot imagine a company like Gemscan risking it’s reputation on something like this, not to mention the reputation of a Queen’s Counselor. Also, unlike ANY other system that has a pyramidal form, the ‘top’ positions are not stagnant and every person who enters that table as a ‘miner’ has an equal opportunity to get to the top. I think perhaps what we are reading here is very much sour grapes on someone’s part. I haven’t decided yet whether or not to purchase a diamond from CDT and enter their trading opportunity, but I am certainly reading ALL of the information I find about it. Here is an interesting piece, where CDT actually responds to the slander on the net. GIVE IT TIME TO LOAD-
