That thing is responsible for the fact that many people make the connection that all online MLM opportunities are scams. But avoidance is not the solution. There are many reputable companies that someone can market on the Internet. You just need to be careful and well informed. It's the few greedy "top dogs" running some shady MLMs that give MLMs, as a whole, a terrible stigma. I think more sites need to be developed to promote the truths about Multi Level Marketing.
