If you’re like me, you’re not a natural speaker.
I find that the best training is to just put yourself out there and talk in front of people often. In my opinion, the secret really just boils down to a couple of things, confidence and feeling natural.
Confidence isn’t something that you gain after a couple of phone calls or presentations, it can take a long time speaking with people until you’ve reached a level of confidence that you’re comfortable with.
To help you feel more natural when you’re speaking, these are some of the things I’ve found that have helped me in the past.
1. Understand your subject material inside and out. People will ask you questions.
2. Be yourself! The harder you try to be something you’re not, the more likely you are to make a mistake because you’re not comfortable. Besides, if you develop a business friendship with the person you’re presenting to, they’re going to know what you’re really like eventually.
