The following question came from a Mastery of Dialogue TeleClass I presented last year.
“I find that I struggle with talking to my prospects like there’s a block when I talk.”
The “block” could be a symptom of something else that is going on. If this happens to you, one of the causes, or reasons could be because you may still be concentrating on what you are going to gain.
When you focus on you and what you want, you increase your inner tension. When your tension goes up you’re not relaxed… you can’t think, nor are you creatively able to move things forward, and “Hey Presto” your block deepens! End result is that you end up serving no one. Least of all yourself!
The answer? Let go of what you want! DETACH from what you expect to gain from the conversation; stop thinking you have to make a presentation to persuade the other person that you’ve got the perfect answer and you’re right. Put all that aside and relax.
