Busy young adults and athletes are going full throttle … for energy drinks.

“Everybody’s looking for the same little pick-me-up,” says Ryan Bem of Carlisle, an independent endorser for the XS drinks from Quixtar.

With names like Full Throttle, SoBe Adrenaline Rush and Rockstar, energy drinks go beyond Coke, Pepsi and other sodas. Instead of ingredients like high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors and phosphoric acid, energy drinks include ingredients like guarana, a South American herb, vitamins — and plenty of caffeine.

Bem says he drinks two energy drinks every day — one at lunch and one in the evening. He’s been drinking XS drinks Quixtar for 18 months.

Energy drinks are a “booming industry,” he says. “I think (the trend) will honestly continue.”

Bem says the XS drinks are “all natural — no sugar, no carbs” and they have “an adaptogenic herb blend.” They “keep me going later at night without being jittery,” he adds.

Many other energy drinks can be found in retail stores.

Interesting post. I haven’t tried the Quixtars Energy Drink, but I do agree that the industry is Booming. That’s how I found your site… searching for energy drink info. I personally, like the product “hot shot”- it gives me a great boost before my workout.
