But today, visitors to the nation’s largest natural food and product expo at the Anaheim Convention Center waited their turn for a fizzy sample of what’s sold in every major grocery stores and big box retailers.
“Eight years ago it was three days of, ‘Have you heard of Emergen-C?’,” Peters said. “(The show) certainly has increased our profile.”
So much so that the company asked satisfied customers to tell their story to a video camera for use on the company’s Web site and MySpace page.
In addition to a daily dose of vitamin C, the expo offered hot cups of Yogi Tea served by men with long robes and beards. An endurance runner, not even breathless, ran a full marathon on a treadmill in booth of organic food maker Nature’s Path. Women in bikini tops and grass skirts danced to promote juice.
