discovery toys“I started selling Discovery Toys in November, and I struggled,” said Emmendorfer of Thomas Township. “I did OK, but I found there was a lot more time just to get parties booked.”

The former federal government employee with two young children at home was hoping to find an easier avenue to place her products in front of buyers. So she looked to the Internet for inspiration.

“I found that you need to do ‘events,’ ” she said. “What are events? They’re like business expos.”

Enlisting the input of friends who also have home party businesses, Emmendorfer made a new business niche for herself in home party promotions.

Her first undertaking is the Spring 2007 Home Party Business Expo, running from

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 24. It takes place at Four Points by Sheraton, 4960 Towne Centre in Saginaw Township. Admission costs $1, with proceeds benefiting the Girls Scouts of Mitten Bay.

The show features 25 direct sales companies selling everything from health and beauty to books. The consultants will have items for sale, take orders, book parties and provide information to those interested in starting their own home business.

I’m not too sure who I am actually replying to, But hopefully you are MLive of Discovery Toys. Your story interests me. You can check out my website at http://www.telutil.ca and of course my blog at http://my-igonet.blogspot.com. I think you have a system that will work well distributing the Igonet digital phone services. Are you interested? Yes or No. I apologize for being so direct.
