The Pampered Chef, in conjunction with the American Cancer Society for the eighth year, will work to raise funds for breast cancer awareness and research. According to the American Cancer Society, approximately one in eight women has a chance of developing invasive breast cancer in their lifetime. But early detection, through regular mammograms and effective treatment, has caused the five-year survival rate to improve to 98 percent. During May, a contribution of $1 will go to the American Cancer Society for every pink-themed kitchen tool purchased from The Pampered Chef. A special open house will be held from 9 a.m. to noon May 17, and 18 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2370 Goose Creek Rd., Martinsville. For more information or to purchase products, call Pam Hurst, independent sales directorfor The Pampered Chef, at(317) 459-3581.
