(CBS 42) AUSTIN The Texas House and Senate declared Monday “Mary Kay Day.” to celebrate the achievements of Dallas-based Mary Kay Inc., the well-known cosmetics selling operation.
According to Mary Kay Inc., more than 71,000 “Independent Beauty Consultants” operate their own Mary Kay business in Texas. More than 1,000 sellers qualify for the use of the prized “Mary Kay Career Car” and 221 of those are the famous pink Cadillacs. (Late founder Mary Kay Ash’s personal pink Cadillac was on display at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum in 2006 as part of the “It STILL Ain’t Braggin’ If It’s True” exhibit.
