Ever thought what’s driving big ticket investments by MLM (multi level marketing) companies such as Amway, Herbalife, Modicare, Hindustan Lever Network and Forever Living into India? And why they are churning their product mix and what’s their new focus area?
Feel the pulse. Indians are getting more health conscious and it’s nutrition and wellness products that’re raking in the moolah for major direct selling companies operating in the country now. This, in fact, is also luring new entrants into the market.
According to an Indian Direct Selling Association (IDSA) source, Herbalife International India, a subsidiary of the $3b Herbalife International, is planning to make significant investments in the sector. Another US-based direct selling player Omnitrition International has started recruiting people to set up its business here.
