The Arizona Republic:

When you think of the Westgate Center in Glendale, do you think of tropical Tahitian breezes and Pacific Island fare?

That’s the idea, say the owners of recently opened Motu’s Tahitian Noni Island Grill.

It’s a spinoff of Tahitian Noni Cafe, an international chain with outlets in the United States, Asia, South America and Europe. Now, the company is moving beyond sandwiches and salads into the dining market.

It’s a fast-casual place – you order at the counter. Starters include coconut shrimp ($7.95), kalua pork quesadilla ($5.95) and poisson cru ($6.25), which is mahi mahi ceviche “cooked” in lime and coconut juices.

Main dishes focus on luau-style kalua chicken and pork. You can order them in noodle bowls ($6.95), as vegetable stir-fries ($6.95) and in tacos ($6.25).

Seafood fans, meanwhile, will find a blackened salmon chopped salad ($9.95), coconut curry shrimp (($7.95) and blackened mahi mahi ($9.95).

The signature drink is a 2-ounce shot of noni juice ($2.25).

Details: Motu’s Tahitian Noni Island Grill, 6770 N. Hockey Way (Westgate Center), Glendale, (623) 432-2010, motusislandgrill.com. Hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Noni Juice seems to be suffering from contamination with bacteria and is being quarantined like never before. A full expose with pictures of the quarantine area can be found here.
