Is MLM About The Product?

November 16, 2007 by Ty | 1 Comment

Network Marketing Is Not About Your Product

Question marlYou can have what you think is a great product and might work far better than anything else on the market but if you are not communicating that it’s better, than your competition will beat you every time. People get too caught up in their product (although you still want to be selling a great product). The key to be effective is how are your marketing your product or service? The majority of people, well actually about 95% of them that joint a network marketing or mlm business think that they are in the business of just sharing their opportunity and product with others and they don’t admit they are in sales. This is insane and has been taught and passed down from each upline distributor for years so it gets passed on to this present day. If you are involved in a network marketing business opportunity then you are in sales.

Good point. In the online world, product is of very little relevance in making a sale. BUT, if you’re thinking larger than just instant gratification, we need to keep customers happy…and good products help with that.

Great book along the lines of your post is Seth Godin’s “Purple Cow.”

    Cheers,
