Adult Parties Add A Little Spark

Julie Munro has something in her Mary Poppins bag of tricks and treats for every woman, naughty or nice.

Munro takes the yawn out of practical Tupperware or candle parties and assists women in finding a little something to add a spark into their love lives with adult parties.

The 30-year-old entrepreneur turns living rooms into romantic boutiques for an evening, where mothers, wives, brides-to-be or girlfriends can gather out of the public eye to peruse through lingerie, spa products and romance accessories.

The professional sales agent for UndercoverWear isn’t shy about her classy adult parties.

Not everyone is comfortable enough to stroll into a lingerie store and adult toy stores are definitely a place where most women would still be too shy, intimidated or scared to enter because of the stigma attached to sex toys and their relationship with the pornographic industry. Adult parties have been in the mix since the 1970s, but they took a dive in the ’80’s when AIDS came onto the scene. Munro had heard about “these types of parties” before but it wasn’t until three months ago when a friend hosted a party that she discovered how harmless and fun they actually are.

Munro, a mother of two, saw a business opportunity, which would allow her to spend her days with her children while her husband works. Then, she escapes at night to help zest up the love lives of women in Nanaimo.

When Munro arrives at the hostess’s house, she starts off her presentations on the lighter side, showing off silky one and two piece lingerie sets, cozy pajamas and then spins into lotions and potions before she pulls out her “bag of buzz.”

The parties are not about being kinky, but rather an opportunity for women to pamper themselves and maybe learn something about their bodies that they didn’t know.
